It started with a basement and a dream.
After my husband and I moved into our new home and found an old canning room in the basement, we had the idea to transform it into a darkroom.
Around the same time we moved, I quit my job as a pilot to take care of my health, so we could focus on having a family of own. Going from traveling half the month to being home 24/7, I found I had a lot of extra time on my hands. Film has always been a passion of mine, but with the extra time available to me, I wanted to try my hand at film processing and scanning.
Here comes that canning room! My husband saw how interested I was in film and all of the care that goes into it, so he took it on himself to totally gut and transform that old scary room into a beautiful at home darkroom. He was on Facebook Marketplace every night looking for cute shelving, desktops, and darkroom equipment so we could turn this dream into a reality.
Once we had some space to work, we began developing and scanning our own film. We went through many many practice rolls to make sure everything was just right. Once we felt confident in ourselves, we reached out to family and friends asking them to be our guinea pigs for this new business idea. Thanks for trusting us Ashley <3
And the rest was history!
We officially opened our doors to the public on February 9th, 2026 . Throughout this whole journey our focus has been to deliver a high quality image at an affordable price. Many people shooting film are doing so on a limited budget, you should not have to sacrifice any quality because of that. Trust us, we know just how expensive shooting film can get.
We hope to expand our services one day if budget allows and if we see a market for it with our customers, As for now, we don't want to stretch ourselves too thin. We want to make sure that what we offer, is of the highest quality we are capable of.
